Brett Pollock Earns Contract with Dallas Stars

Edmonton, Alta., - The Dallas Stars announced today the club has signed Edmonton Oil Kings forward Brett Pollock to a three-year entry level NHL contract. Pollock, 19, was selected by Dallas in the second round (45th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.

"This is a big honour for sure. I'm excited to continue to be part of the Dallas Stars organization and have been working toward this and working on all aspects of my game both on and off the ice to become bigger, stronger and a more complete player," said Pollock. "It's nice to take another step in the right direction and today I'm just trying to take it all in."

The Sherwood Park, AB product is currently in his fourth WHL season, all with the Oil Kings, and is tied for the team lead with 32 points (11G, 21A) and also tops the team with a +14 rating in 30 games this year. During the 2014-15 season with the Oil Kings, the forward recorded a career-high 62 points (32G, 30A) in 70 games and finished the year +15.

It's great to see Brett getting one step closer to his ultimate goal," said Randy Hansch, Oil Kings General Manager. "Brett has been a big piece of our hockey club since he came to us as a 16-year-old."

The 6'3", 197-pound forward helped the Oil Kings win the 2014 Memorial Cup Championship and the WHL's Ed Chynoweth Trophy, registering 19 points (11G, 8A) and a +11 rating in 21 playoff games on the road to the Oil Kings victory.
