Round Rock Express News Release

Not much has gone right for the Round Rock Express this year. Tuesday night, though, that trend took a dramatic turn for the better.

The Express capitalized on five Arkansas Traveler errors and got another solid outing from D.J. Houlton to down the Travelers, 7-3, in front of 8,827 at The Dell Diamond.

Round Rock got started early when Tommy Whiteman continued his recent hot streak with an RBI single in the first inning. After Arkansas tied the game in the third, the antics began.

Throwing errors by Brian Specht and Carlos Duncan led to a pair of runs in the third. That was followed by a second error by Specht in the sixth that scored two more for the Express and essentially put the game away.

Houlton had another quality start, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings. The only downside for him was that his consecutive scoreless innings streak ended at 20.1 and he walked his first man in 18 innings.

Whiteman collected three RBIs to push his season total to 40. Chris Burke, John Tamargo and Michael Rosamond had two hits each.

Houlton (4-2) got the win and Billy Stokley (1-3) took the loss.

The two teams will continue their four-game series Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
