
Braves Take Game Two vs. Lookouts

Mississippi took the lead in the third when Onil Joseph led off with a double to left-center. Mike Rozema followed with a single to center that brought Joseph to the plate with the games first run.
After Yunel Escobar was hit by a pitch and Barbaro Canizares reached on a fielding error, Matt Esquivel drilled a single down the third base line to bring Escobar to the plate and give Mississippi a 2-0 lead after four.
The Braves extended their lead with a three-spot in the sixth. Yunel Escobar led off with a hustle-double and beat the throw to third when Barbaro Canizares reached on a fielder's choice. Jarrod Saltalamacchia then doubled to left-center bringing Escobar to the plate with the Braves third run. With runners at second and third, Onil Joseph doubled to right bringing both Canizares and Saltalamacchia to the plate to make the score 5-0 Braves.
Chattanooga got on the board in the eighth when Christopher Dickerson led off with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Anderson Machado to make the score 5-1 Braves.
Braves starter Sean White (5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 K) threw five shutout innings and improved to 4-3 on the year. Ryan Basner (2.0 IP, 1 K) threw two scoreless innings. Glenn Tucker (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER) gave up one run, but preserved the Braves lead. Arthur Santos (1.0 IP, 2 K) threw a scoreless ninth inning.
Lookouts starter Steve Kelly (6.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 HB) left the game trailing 5-0 and fell to 7-4 on the season. Two of Kelly's four losses are to the Braves. Carlos Alvarado (2.0 IP, 1 H, 3 K) threw two scoreless innings.
Game three between the Braves and the Lookouts is tomorrow night at Trustmark Park at 7:05 pm. The Braves send lefty Chris Waters to the hill in search of his fourth win of the season while the Lookouts counter with righty Eddy Valdez. The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel starts off the broadcast at 6:05pm (CT) on SuperSport 930.
