Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 1-0 in front of 2,812 fans Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium for a four game series sweep. Four Braves pitchers combined to shut out the RiverDogs, giving up just three hits in the game.

Rome scored the only run of the game in the first inning after Kyle Rose led off with a single and later scored on a Jordan Kreke ground out for the 1-0 lead. One run proved to be all the Braves would need as they held the RiverDogs scoreless, allowing only four Charleston players in scoring position.

Braves starter Caleb Brewer pitched six innings giving up three hits for his second win of the season. Steven Kent, Thomas Berryhill, and Jeff Lorick combined to pitch three strong innings of relief in support of Brewer, allowing zero hits with three strike outs.

Caleb Brewer (2-0) picks up the win for Rome while Charleston's Michael Solbach (1-2) gets the loss. Jeff Lorick (2) picks up the save for the Braves.

The Braves return from the All-Star Break on the road with five games in Lexington before returning home on June 29th for a 7pm game against Greensboro.
