Brandon Vazquez Named to 2022 MLS All-Star Roster

FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - Major League Soccer today announced that FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vazquez has been added to the MLS roster for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game, presented by Target. Vazquez, who will be making his first All-Star Game appearance, joins Luciano Acosta as FC Cincinnati players to have been named to this year's MLS All-Star team that will take on LIGA MX's All-Stars on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota (8:30 p.m. ET; ESPN/Univision).
The honor for Vazquez continues a breakout season in which the forward has scored 13 goals and added four assists in 22 appearances. Earlier in July he became the first player in FC Cincinnati history to score double-digit MLS goals in one season, and he is the club's all-time leading scorer for goals in a single season (13) and for his career (19).
Vazquez leads the league in headed goals (6) and his 13 non-penalty kick goals are the most in MLS this season, and only trail Austin FC's Sebastián Driussi (14) in the Golden Boot race.
The 23-year-old earns his first All-Star nod in his sixth season in MLS, his third with the Orange and Blue. He becomes the second player in club history to earn a spot on the 26-man MLS All-Star roster, following Luciano Acosta's selection to this year's roster on July 12, the first in FCC history.
Vazquez returns to Allianz Field where on May 7 his game-winner in the 93rd minute was the latest goal in club history and led the Orange and Blue to a stunning 1-0 win against Minnesota United FC.
Vazquez replaces Taty Castellanos, who was sent on loan from New York City FC to LaLiga side Girona on July 25.
