Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced a pair of player moves affecting the Double-A Carolina Mudcats of the Southern League.
LHP Adam Brandenburg has been reassigned to the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League. Brandenburg, who pitched a scoreless inning last night, recorded an ERA of 1.74 over seven games with the Mudcats.
RHP Jose Garcia has been promoted to the Mudcats from Jupiter and will make his Double-A debut in a starting role on Saturday night against Montgomery. Garcia, who pitched in the U.S. for the first time last season, fashioned a 6-2 record with an ERA of 1.87 in 12 games (11 starts) with the Hammerheads.
LHP Manu Olivera has been shifted to the Carolina bullpen to create a rotation spot for Garcia.
