Jackson, TN (June 8th)- Mark Prior came back to where his career started tonight, tossing five effective innings to lead the Diamond Jaxx to a 6-4 win over the Birmingham Barons in game two of the five game series.

Birmingham took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Ricardo Nanita and Corey Smith hit back to back two out singles. They both scored when Cory Aldridge hit a three run homer deep over the right-center field wall. After giving up three runs on three hits in the first inning, Prior (1-0) went on to pitch one hit ball in his final four innings.

While the Barons were getting blanked, the Diamond Jaxx started their comeback. Nic Jackson's home run in the bottom of the first made it a 3-1 game. Eric Patterson's RBI single off losing pitcher Lance Broadway (4-4) in the third inning made it 3-2. The Diamond Jaxx tied the game at three in the fourth inning on a run scoring single by Jose Reyes. The Diamond Jaxx took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth inning when Brandon Sing drove home Patterson with a single to left. Sing later scored on a fielding error by Birmingham 3B Micah Schnurstein to make it a 5-3 Diamond Jaxx lead.

Clay Rapada pitched a perfect ninth inning to nail down his Southern League leading 18th save of the season.

Game three of the five game series takes place on Friday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Juan Mateo (3-2 2.14) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Birmingham will counter with lefty Tyler Lumsden (6-2 3.74).
