Branch named UHL Goalie of the Month

Fraser, MI – The United Hockey League announced Monday that Motor City Mechanics goaltender Rod Branch has been named the Southern Sports Supply Goalie of the Month for the month of March.

Branch earned a stellar 11-2-0 record, a 1.93 GAA and a .932 save percentage during the month of March. In net for all 13 Motor City games, Branch recorded his first shutout of the season, the first in Mechanics franchise history, a 3-0 win on March 26th in Danbury. The 29 year old is currently second in the UHL in minutes played (3,446) and saves (1,694). Heading into the month of April, Branch is riding a personal seven game winning streak.

The Mechanics play their final home game of the season on Wednesday April 6th when they host the Muskegon Fury at 7:30pm. The Mechanics are 8-0-0 over the past two weeks but have yet to defeat the Fury this season. The entire team's home white jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with the proceeds benefiting the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. The first 2,000 fans will receive Mechanics pucks courtesy of CLF and WCSX.
