The Rockford IceHogs enter the final week of the 2004-05 United Hockey League regular season with a chance to take over the top spot in the Western Division. Rockford split four games during Week 25, including their ninth win over the Quad City Mallards. The Hogs will wrap up the regular season with the Sixth Annual MDA Jersey Auction on Friday against Kalamazoo and an afternoon contest against the Missouri River Otters Sunday.

Transactions

-Defenseman Ryan Carrigan was signed to an ATO on Wednesday, March 30.

-Winger Eric Labelle was returned to Rockford from the Utah Grizzlies (AHL) on Wednesday, March 30

-Labelle was recalled by the Grizzlies on Thursday, March 31.

-Defenseman Eric Skaug was activated from Team Suspension on Saturday, April 2.

-Defenseman Scott Titus was signed on Sunday, April 3.

Bacon Bits:

Rockford fared well this season in the second game of back-to-back games, going 16-4-2.

The IceHogs also wrapped up their Saturday portion of the 2004-05 schedule, going 15-6-1.

The Hogs power play made a turn for the worse this past week going 0-for-22.

Rockford finished the month of March 8-3-2, their fifth winning month of the 2004-05 season.

The Hogs tied a franchise record by beating the Quad City Mallards for a ninth time last Wednesday. Rockford is 9-1-1 against the rivals, including 5-0-0 at the MARK of the Quad Cities with one-game remaining in Moline.

Winger Eric Labelle scored his first career AHL goal on Saturday night with the Utah Grizzlies against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Rockford set a franchise record on Saturday in Port Huron, scoring their 239 goal of the season. The old record of 238 was set during the 1999-2000 season.

The IceHogs are only 2-3-2 in their last seven games since winning five straight.

Hot Hog: Week 25

Winger Chris Gobert: Another quietly consistent scorer for the IceHogs, Gobert notched three point during the Hogs four game week. Despite missing over a month due to an injury, Gobert ranks fourth on the Hogs in scoring this season with 19g-34a-53pts.

Upcoming Games:

Wednesday, April 6 at Quad City Mallards. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Mallards wrap up their 2004-05 regular season schedule. The Hogs are still in the hunt for the Western Division title, while the Mallards are looking to clinch their 10 straight Colonial Cup Playoff birth.

Friday, April 8 vs. Kalamazoo Wings. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Rockford enters the final weekend of the 2004-05 regular season with a possible first round playoff preview at the MetroCentre. The game also marks the Hogs Sixth Annual MDA Jersey Auction. Fans will have an opportunity to bid on the jersey's following the game. The first 1,000 fans to the MetroCentre will receive an IceHogs T-shirt featuring the 2005 MDA logo, courtesy of Axberg Heating Company, Dental Dimensions, 13WREX and Q98.5 FM. Sunday, April 10 vs. Missouri River Otters. The puck drops at 3:05 p.m. It's fan appreciation day at the MetroCentre when the Hogs wrap up the regular season portion of the 2004-05 schedule. Sunday is also a Family Four Pack Day at the B.O.B, that's four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for only $40.

Budweiser HogTalk returns tonight at the Olympic Tavern! The show, hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T, runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. each Monday and features IceHogs Head Coach Steve Martinson. This week, IceHogs forwards J.F. Dufour Olivier Proulx and defenseman Ryan Carrigan will join Hogs fans at the Olympic Tavern

Season Ticket Renewals:

Season ticket holders can also now renew their season tickets for the 2005-06 season! Season ticket holders can save up to 10% off of their ticket packages by paying in full by Friday, April 15. Fans can renew their tickets at the season ticket holder table at any remaining IceHogs home game, at the IceHogs office (202 West State Street in downtown Rockford) or over the phone at (815) 986-6465.
