Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 3)- As Brahmas fans set their clocks back an hour, the Texas Brahmas moved ahead as they defeated the Corpus Christi Rayz 2-1, improving their record to 6-1.
The first period was a goaltender's duel as Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola stopped ten shots and Rayz goaltender Kevin Couture faced 13. Remarkable plays by both goalies kept Rayz fans on the edge of their seats until the period came to an end.
Saturday evening's second period started in fine fashion for Rayz fans as a Corpus Christi goal by Adam Powell at the 6:48 mark put them on the board first. A few minutes later with an extra attacker, Brahmas forward Anders Strome slipped a goal by Rayz netminder Couture. Rewarded with the assists were Grant Jacobsen and Scott Sheppard.
As the second was coming to a close, both teams battled it out for the go ahead goal. In the end, Brahmas leading scorer Scott Sheppard was able to find the back of the net at the 13:27 mark. Brahmas captain Blair Manning and defenseman Craig Minard set the goal up.
Although clocks are preparing to be set back an hour, the Brahmas on the other hand never looked back in the third, as they defeated the Corpus Christi Rayz 2-1. The Brahmas set a franchise record by winning their fourth consecutive game on the road to start a season.
The Texas Brahmas next game is Friday, November 9 against the Rocky Mountain Rage in Colorado for an 8:05 start. The Brahmas next home game is Saturday, November 17 against the Youngstown SteelHounds for a 7:05 face off.
