HIDALGO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will look to win their eighth straight game to start the season tonight as they travel to take on division rival Rio Grande Valley at the Dodge Arena. Game time is set for 7:35pm.

The Bucks will look to extend the best start in franchise history tonight when they play their first of seven games at the Dodge Arena this season.
On Thursday the Bucks beat the Bees 5-1 at the LEC, with Laredo scoring four second period goals to break the game open. Rane Carnegie scored a goal and handed out an assist, with Corey Courchene picking up a goal and an assist, while Chris Korchinski handed out two assists for the Bucks. Rookie goaltender Kevin Beech improved to 3-0 on the season stopping 25 of 26 Bees shots that came his way. Rio's lone goal came with 59 seconds left in the second period as Travis Banga knocked home a power-play goal.
The Bees scored two third period goals to defeat Corpus Christi Friday night 5-4 at the Dodge Arena. Dennis Maxwell tied the game for Rio four minutes into the third period, and Mark O'leary scored a power-play goal with just 1:05 left to win the game for the Bees. Former Bucks goalie David Lemanowicz picked up the win in net.
*Bucks Notes*
*Bucks rookie defenseman David Victor will not travel this weekend with the team, he has yet to play in a game this season due to visa paperwork.
*After the game against the Bees the Bucks will travel 337 miles to Austin to play the Ice Bats on Sunday afternoon. Laredo will arrive in Austin around 4am Sunday morning.
*The Bucks have scored first in six of their seven games this season
