Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Brahmas beat the Bucks 2-1 on Saturday night behind two goals from captain Adam Hogg, including the game-winner in overtime.

Hogg got the Brahmas out to an early 1-0 lead at the 13:28 mark of the first period. Texas held that lead late into the third period until Matt Pierce evened the score at one goal apiece with just 5:46 remaining in regulation to send the contest into overtime.

The Brahmas were 0-4 in overtime entering Saturday's matchup versus the Bucks, but Texas dominated the extra frame. It took five shots and multiple scoring opportunities over four minutes and nine seconds, but the Brahmas were able to beat Laredo goaltender Torrie Jung as Hogg got on the board once again, this time to end the game.

Silverthorn made 18 saves on 19 shots, holding the opponent to one score for the second consecutive night. His counterpart Jung stopped 24 of 26 shots fired on net by Texas.

The Brahmas will pack their bags and hit the road to take on the Bucks once again on Wednesday in Laredo. The team is back at the NYTEX Sports Centre on Friday, February 10 when they face off against the crosstown rival Allen Americans at 7:30pm.
