Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - After being shut out on Friday night, the Brahmas offense woke up in Laredo, scoring four goals in a win against the Bucks.

Jim Burichin opened up the scoring just two and a half minutes into the game with his first goal of the season. Then at the 5:36 mark of the first period, the Brahmas extended their lead to 2-0 behind T.J. Fox's second score this year. After a Jordan Kary slashing penalty though, the Bucks converted on the powerplay, as Kyle Mariani fired a slapshot from the point by Texas goaltender Steve Silverthorn with under three minutes remaining in the period to come within a goal of Texas.

As did the first period, the second frame saw a lot of action. Captain Adam Hogg gave Texas a 3-1 lead midway through the second period with the Brahmas' first powerplay goal of the season. Texas was 0-17 with an extra man coming into Saturday's game.

The Bucks didn't wait long to respond, as Matt Hanson put one past Silverthorn just a minute later. But with 7:12 remaining, Brendon Hodge gave the Brahmas a two-goal cushion again with his first score of the season.

Matt Boyd scored a goal late in the third period for the Bucks to cut the lead to one, but Silverthorn and the Brahmas were able to hold off the Laredo surge to pick up their second victory of the season.

Texas takes on the Missouri Mavericks on Tue, November 8 at 7:00 pm at home. For ticket information for the 2011-2012 season, call 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
