Bloomington Blaze News Release

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, gave up two unanswered goals twice and lost to the visiting Rapid City Rush 4-2 on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The Blaze scored first with 8:28 left in the first period on a short-handed goal by Jon Booras, his first of the season. The Rush took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, however, on an unassisted goal by Michael Couch from the left point when he picked up a clearance attempt with 6:14 left, and then with just under 25 seconds left in the period on Shawn Limpright's goal.

Rapid City penalties led to a game-tying goal by Brodie Sheahan with 4:10 left in the second, but Michael Couch scored his second goal of the game with just 1:23 left to give the Rush a 3-2 lead at the second intermission.

The Rush put the game out of reach just over three minutes into the third period when the Rush completed a tic-tac-toe on a power play with a goal by Colin Circelli.

Each team put 33 shots on net. Rapid City improves to 4-1-1 while the Blaze fall to 1-3-1. The Blaze begin a five-game road trip with games on Friday and Saturday in North Richland Hills, Texas against the Texas Brahmas. The Blaze return to U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Saturday, November 19 at 7:05 p.m. against the Dayton Gems, when Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman (Rocky Blue on "Shake It Up") will meet fans and sign autographs from 6-9 p.m. Contact the Blaze office for tickets and more information at 309-434-2980.
