Killer Bees Win Third in a Row, Beat Tulsa 6-3

Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release


HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (3-3-0) defeated the Tulsa Oilers (4-3-0) by a 6-3 score on Saturday night for the team's third win a row. Tomas Klempa registered a pair of goals for the Bees and Brandon Campos scored his first professional goal in the victory.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead thanks to a Tomas Klempa deflection in front while the Bees had a man advantage. Kyle Radke took the puck from the slot and tossed it towards the net where Klempa deflected it home beating Oilers goalie Ian Keserich.

Aaron Lee scored his fifth goal of the season at 5:22 of the second as Zac Pearson fed him a loose puck in front which Lee banged home. Lee has now scored in five straight games for the Killer Bees.

John Murray made 14 saves in the first period keeping the Oilers off the board.

Jason Dixon would score his first goal in a Killer Bees uniform at 1:00 of the second period as he and Aaron Lee came in on a two-on-one. After the defenseman deflected the puck back to Dixon, Dixon put it in the empty net.

Tulsa would go on to score the next two goals as Michel Beausoleli and Mike Ullrich both found the back of the net for the Oilers.

The Bees however would make the game a two-goal affair at 18:55 of the second as Brandon Campos potted his first goal a professional. Dan Gendur sent a pass towards the center of the ice which was deflected in by Campos.

In the third period Tomas Klempa would add his second goal of the evening, again on the power-play, at 3:51 with a shot from the slot that beat Ian Keserich. Zac Pearson would also add a third period tally, his fourth of the season.
