Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Brahmas (17-12-4) out-gunned the Oilers Saturday night at the Fort Worth Convention Center, defeating Tulsa by the score of 6-3.
Fort Worth jumped out to an early lead when Adam Hogg fed Chad Woollard on the doorstep for an easy score at the 5:59 mark of the first period. That lead was short-lived though, as Gary Steffes snuck the puck past Brahmas netminder Brad Fogal just 29 seconds later. Fort Worth regained the lead at the 8:21 mark when John Snowden notched his third goal in eight games with the Brahmas. Snowden also added his sixth goal of the season (fourth with the Brahmas) at 4:31 of the season period.
Fort Worth ran away with the contest in the third period, tacking on three more unanswered goals to extend the lead to 6-1. Adam Hogg was credited with the first at 4:36, Woollard with the second at 13:47 and Calin Wild with the third at 14:15. For Woollard, it was his second of the game, giving him two scores his two of his last three games at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Tulsa added two goals in the last four minutes - scored by Steffes and Ryan Cramer - but it was not enough to erase the deficit.
Fogal stopped 19 of 22 to improve to 9-6-1 on the season and 3-0-0 in his last three starts. Shane Madolora took the loss for the Oilers, allowing six goals on 26 Brahmas' shots.
With the win, Fort Worth improved to 5-0-0 at the Fort Worth Convention Center and extended its current winning streak to three games.
The Brahmas are back in action Tuesday, January 8 when the team hosts the cross-town rival Allen Americans at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The game is set to begin at 7:00pm.
The Brahmas have reduced individual ticket prices, as well as lowering the price of full-season, half-season and 11-game ticket packages for the 2012-2013 season. For more ticket information, please contact a Brahmas sales representative at 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
