Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Giving up three powerplay goals turned into a formula of defeat as the Brahmas lost 4-2 Saturday night against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on the road.

The Brahmas and Mudbugs exchanged goals in the first and second periods, with Brandon Benedict and Pete Rouleau scoring for Texas, giving the teams a 2-2 tie heading into the second intermission. Rouleau's goal was the Brahmas league leading 17th shorthanded goal of the season.

Goaltender Brett Jaeger was tested in the third with a goal by Joe Blaznek to give the Mudbugs a 3-2 lead. The Brahmas swarmed the net in the final period but a breakaway goal by Neil Clark ended Texas' chance at a comeback, losing 4-2. Texas went an uncharacteristic 0-for-9 on the powerplay and outshot Bossier 38-31.

Texas' next game is Friday, March 6 against the Corpus Christi IceRays at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:05 PM on $1 Coke Night. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
