Odessa Jackalopes News Release

(Odessa, TX) - For the second straight game an Odessa Jackalope recorded a hat trick, but the end result was different as the Amarillo Gorillas snuck past the Jacks with a 6-5 win on Saturday night at the Ector County Coliseum. Odessa's Sebastien Thinel scored three goals in the game for the second time this season, and finished with a five point night.

The Jackalopes built a 3-0 lead entering the second period but saw it quickly vanish as Amarillo's Warren Galloway, Austin Sutter, and John Snowden all scored in a :45 span of the second period to tie the game.

Entering the third it was a 4-4 tie when Amarillo built a two-goal lead on a power play goal by Sam Ftorek at 3:28 and another goal from Sutter at 8:27. Thinel scored his hat trick goal at 10:18 of the third to pull Odessa within one but Amarillo held on for the 6-5 final.

The Jackalopes will host the Laredo Bucks on Friday to close out their seven-game homestand. Game time is 7:05 PM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org.
