The Bucks need a win tonight over the Sundogs to punch their ticket to the playoffs for the seventh straight season. Laredo decreased their magic number to clinch a playoff berth to two points with Friday night's 4-1 win in Rio Grande Valley.

Laredo enters play tonight sitting in the third spot in the Southern Conference playoff race, as they sit 13 points back of Texas in the Southeast Division.

The Bucks scored three-third period goals Friday night to break a 1-1 tie, and increase their lead over the fourth place Killer Bees to eight points.

Andrew Martin came up big for the Bucks Friday night, as he stopped 38 of 39 shots in net. Igor Agarunov, Alex Goupil, and Darryl Smith (empty net) scored in the third for Laredo, who gave President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski his 496th career win.

With his tally Friday night Smith now leads the entire CHL in goals scored with 32, while also leading all CHL rookies in scoring with 60 points (32-28=60).

Brent Cullaton, who is tied for fourth in the CHL in scoring, leads the Bucks with 66 points (17-47=66).

The Bucks and Sundogs meet for the fifth and final time this season tonight, with Laredo winning the previous four encounters by scoring five goals in each game.

The Sundogs enter tonight sitting alone in the final playoff spot in the Southern Conference, thanks to their 1-0 shootout win over Corpus Christi Friday night. Arizona is one-point ahead of the Ice Rays.

Marco Emond stopped all 33 Ice Rays shots to earn the shutout Friday night.

The Sundogs snapped a four-game winless streak (0-3-1) with the win.

Joel Irving leads Arizona in scoring with 60 points (30-30=60).
