Anderson, SC- The Bradenton Juice showed on Wednesday night that they were more than alive and well...they are smoking as the Juice defeated the Anderson Joes 15-6. Bradenton set a number of records on Wednesday in Anderson, including hitting multiple homeruns in back-to-back games for the first time in team history.
The Juice fell behind in the Bottom of the 1st inning when the Joes sent seven batters to the plate. Billy Hogan doubled to right field scoring Brandon Carter from first base. The next batter Richard Quihuis-Bell singled to left field driving in Hogan putting the Joes up 2-0.
Bradenton got on the scoreboard in the next frame with Eddie Kim leading off the 2nd with a single to center field. The next batter Mikela Olsen doubled to left field driving in Kim from first base. Three batters later Nick Corbeil, the younger brother of Juice 3rd baseman Al Corbeil, smacked a double to center field driving in Olsen tying the score at 2.
The Juice attack came on in a big way in the Top of the 3rd with six runs. Second baseman Julius Thames led off the inning with a single to center field and two batters later Al Corbeil reached on an error by the first baseman. The following batter Eddie Kim took an Andy Carter pitch over the right field wall for his 2nd homerun of the season. Kim also homered in Tuesday's game and he becomes the first Juice player ever to homer in consecutive games. After a walk to Mikela Olsen, Brenan Herrera singled to center field. The next batter right fielder Zach Woodward used his great speed to leg out a triple to right field scoring two runs. Then Nick Corbeil hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Woodward.
The Joes did not give up despite being down 8-2 as they scored three runs in the Bottom of the 3rd. Anderson started the inning with three consecutive singles and then Jake Wheeler grounded into a 6-4-3 double play that drove in Keel from first base cutting the Juice lead to 8-3. Kevin Noles followed with a walk, then Brandon Davis hit an infield single that scored Noles. Next, a single by Travis Hundley drove in Brandon Davis from second base making the score 8-5.
Bradenton did not score again until the 6th inning when six batters came to the plate scoring three runs. Nick Corbeil led off the inning with a double to left field. Pitcher Travis Kane followed with an infield single and then Julus Thames hit into a 4-6-3 double play that drove home Corbeil. Luke Barganier then reached base on an error by first baseman Richard Quihuis-Bell and the next batter Al Corbeil smacked a homerun over the right field wall putting the Juice up 11-5.
An inning later Mikela Olsen led off the frame with a single and then Brenan Herrera singled to left field. Both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch then a sacrifice fly by Nick Corbeil scored Olsen from third base. Travis Kane came to the plate next and he reached on an error by the second baseman that scored Herrera.
Anderson added its 6th and final run in the bottom of the inning. Billy Hogan led off wiith a single to center field, then Richard Quihuis-Bell reached on an error that moved Hogan to third base. Then Jake Wheeler hit into his second double play of the night, but Hogan scored on the play.
The Juice capped off the scoring in the 8th inning scoring twice. Luke Barganier led off with a single to center field. Al Corbeil followed with a walk, then Eddie Kim reached on an error. A single to right field by pinch hitter Noah Peery scored Barganier making it a 14-6 game. Two batters later Zach Woodward singled to center field driving in Al Corbeil.
Travis Kane gets the victory for Bradenton getting his first decision of the season. Kane pitched 4 innings, allowing an unearned run on 3 hits, walking 0, and striking out 4 batters. Anderson's Andy Carter sees his record fall to 0-3 as he lasts 3 innings, allowing 8 runs on 8 hits, walking one, and striking out one Juice batter.
Bradenton improves its record to 9-7 while the Anderson Joes fall to 3-14.
The Juice records set on Wednesday include most runs scored in a game: 15, most hits in a contest: 17, and the largest margin of victory: 9 runs. The homerun records set include Eddie Kim becoming the first Juice player to homer in back-to-back games, and by Kim and Corbeil homering is the first time the Juice have hit multiple homeruns in back-to-back contests.

In his first start as a member of the Juice catcher Nick Corbeil drove in three runs and scored once on two doubles and two sacrifice flies.
Nick's older brother Al reached base in 5 of 6 at bats hitting two singles and a two-run homerun in the 6th inning.
Bradenton continues its 15-game road trip beginning a three game series on Thursday in Aiken, South Carolina vs. the Aiken Foxhounds. Aiken is second in the South Coast League standings and this will be the first meeting between the two teams. First pitch on Thursday from Roberto Hernandez Stadium is set for 7:05.
