Bradenton Gets Back in the Win Column

Anderson, SC- The Bradenton Juice hit two home runs early and came from behind in the Top of 9th inning to defeat the Anderson Joes 6-4. The win snaps the Juice's three game losing streak and gets their record above .500 at 8-7.

Bradenton scored twice in the second inning after Eddie Kim led off with a single. Kim scored two batters later on a two-run homer by Brenan Herrera over the left field scoreboard giving the Juice a 2-0 lead. The homerun was Herrera's 2nd of the season and he now has 7 RBI.

Anderson scored its first run in the Bottom of the 3rd after Travis Hundley led off the inning with a single. Three batters later Richard Quihuis-Bell drove in Hundley from third base on a ground out to second base.

Leading 2-1 Bradenton scored for a third time when Eddie Kim led off the 4th inning with solo homerun over the right field wall. This is Kim's first homerun as a member of the Juice.

The Juice saw its 3-1 lead disappear in the Bottom of the 5th. Travis Hundley led off with a single, then Heath Keel doubled to right field scoring Hundley. After Keel advanced to third base Billy Hogan hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield that scored Keel to even the contest at three.

Anderson scored next in the 7th inning when Heath Keel led off the inning with an infield single. Keel stole second base and then a ground out to the shortstop by Billy Hogan advanced Keel to the third base. The next batter Richard Quihuis-Bell drove in his second run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Trailing 4-3 entering the 9th inning did not deter the relentless Bradenton Juice. With one out Julius Thames singled to center field and Luke Barganier followed with a single to right field. Thames advanced to third base on the single and Barganier got to second on the throw to third base. Behind in the count Corbeil singled to right field driving in Thames and Barganier giving Bradenton a 5-4 advantage. After Corbeil advanced to third base on a passed ball, Eddie Kim hit a sacrifice fly to center field that brought in Corbeil giving the Juice a 6-4 lead. This was Kim's second RBI of the game.

Steve Alverson came on in the Bottom of the 9th inning and he struck out three of the four batters he faced picking up his third save of the season. The win improves the Juice's record to 8-7 while the Anderson Joes fall to 3-12.

Wayne Hedden picks up the victory for Bradenton, improving his record to 2-0. Jason Williams gets the loss falling to 0-2 as he allowed the Juice to score three times in the Top of the 9th inning.

The Juice take on the Joes in the rubber game of the series on Wednesday night at 7:05 at Anderson Memorial Stadium.
