COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, made a couple roster moves following their 6-1 loss to South Bend Friday night. RHP Santo Mieses and catcher Joe Bowen were sent to June camp in Lakeland, Florida. LHP Matt Hoffman was promoted to the Whitecaps roster and will join the team prior to Saturday's game against South Bend.

Hoffman was selected by the Tigers in the 26th round of the 2007 draft out of Owasso High School in Owasso, Okla. The 19-year-old southpaw will be making his professional debut with West Michigan.

Bowen went 0-for-3 in Friday's game and was hitting .176 (13-for-74) with no home runs and six RBI in 22 games with the Whitecaps. Mieses was 1-3 with a 4.74 ERA in 17 appearances with West Michigan. He gave up three runs in 0.2 innings on Wednesday against South Bend in his last outing. Both players were on the Whitecaps Opening Day roster.

The Whitecaps active roster stands at 24 with no word on who will replace Bowen on the roster.
