
Bourassa earns weekly honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder defenseman Jarad Bourassa has been name the Lone Star Restaurant "Player of the Week" for his performance in the team's three road games last week, it was announced Monday.
Bourassa scored one goal and added three assists as the PrairieThunder won one of three games. Bourassa had two assists in a 5-4 loss at Flint on Friday. He scored a power play goal in a 5-3 loss at Port Huron on Saturday before assisting on the PrairieThunder's first goal in a 2-1 victory at Fort Wayne on Sunday.
Bourassa has scored 17 points this season on eight goals and nine assists in 33 games.
The PrairieThunder will be looking to extend its winning ways against Western Conference rival Chicago in a 7:05 p.m. United Hockey League game Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Bloomington is 4-2 against the Hounds and trails them by five points in the Western Conference standings. The game is the first of four for the PrairieThunder in five days.
The team travels to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Friday before returning home to U.S. Cellular Coliseum for back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday.
The PrairieThunder faces Eastern Conference foe Kalamazoo at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Western Conference rival Quad City at 3:05 p.m. Sunday.
The game against Chicago on Wednesday is Wine, Women and Hockey Night where individuals can receive mini-manicures and hand massages (provided by Fox N Hounds) for $30 per person. Tickets must be purchased by visiting or calling the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office at 309-434-2679.
Wednesday is also 4x4x4 Night where fans can purchase four box seats ($10 value per ticket) and receive four hot dogs and four sodas for $44.
Fans attending the Saturday night game will get to witness a performance by nationally known Quick Change during the first intermission. Quick Change is a male and female duo that changes clothes numerous times in a matter of seconds during its act and has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and America's Got Talent.
Also on Saturday, the first 1,500 fans age 21 and over will receive a fleece PrairieThunder blanket compliments of Bud Light.
Sunday is Pantagraph/Nesquick Kids Day. Children 12 and under are eligible to receive $10 box tickets for $6 and a Kids Meal for $3, which includes a trading card of PrairieThunder mascot Chip. There also will be an appearance by cartoon characters Wanda and Cosmo.
