The Rockland Boulders split a double header against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles, winning the opener by a 4-3 count before dropping the nightcap, 4-1. With Ottawa and Quebec both losing, The Boulders' Magic Number to qualify for their sixth straight playoff appearance is down to two games.

Ottawa carried a 2-0 lead into the home sixth of game one, but back-to-back homers by Richie Fecteau and Matt Oberste knotted the score. The scheduled seven-inning affair went to extras, with Trois-Rivieres pushing across its International Tiebreaker runner in the top of the ninth and the Boulders matching it in the bottom half, setting the stage for a bizarre walkoff.

With one out and Chase Harris on first, Marcos Almonte grounded out to third but Harris, running on the pitch, kept going around second base. The return throw to third was in the dirt but Harris was tied up briefly with third baseman Taylor Brennan before being thrown out at home. Harris was awarded home due to obstruction, however, sending Rockland to victory.

In the nightcap, the Aigles jumped out to an early lead with a pair in the top of the first and solid pitching did the rest in the 4-1 win.

The three-game series concludes in a 5:00 pm start at Palisades Credit Union Park on Sunday, August 25th.
