New York Boulders News Release

(Ramapo, NY) The T-Bones exploded for 10 runs and hung tough after an hour and 40-minute rain delay to beat Rockland 10-7.

Kansas City started off the contest with three runs in the top of the first and second innings highlighted by a two-run triple from Lee Cruz and homeruns from Devin Goodwin and Brandon Jones.

The Boulders added one in the bottom of the second on an RBI single from Billy Alvino that drove in Ryan Mollica. But the T-Bones kept on hitting as they strung together another three combined runs in the third and fourth innings to make the score 9-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Starter Gustavo Chacin would leave the game after the third inning surrendering seven runs on seven hits while striking out two.

It was at that point that the Boulders erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 9-6. A two-runs single from Cole Kraft started things off for Rockland and then a bases clearing triple from Chris Valencia brought life back into the ballpark.

But the clouds opened up after a scoreless fifth inning from both teams. The score would remain 9-6 for the next hour and 40 minutes as the rain poured down and the teams sat in the dugout. After the clouds disappeared the T-Bones added another insurance run in the top of the eighth to make it 10-6. The final Boulders run would come in the bottom of the ninth as Chris Valencia scored on an error from Goodwin.

Rockland heads to Quebec for a three-game series starting tomorrow. The Boulders return to Provident Bank Park on Thursday as they begin a three-game set with the Jackals.
