
Boston Bruins Alumni And Olympic Silver Medalist Erika Lawler At DCU Center This Weekend

WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today numerous promotions and events in conjunction with the final two home games of the regular season at the DCU Center on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 as the Sharks close out a record breaking 4th season in Worcester. Erika Lawler will sign autographs on Friday and the Boston Bruins Alumni will skate before the Sharks game on Saturday to headline the list of promotions.
The action packed weekend begins Friday night when the Sharks host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05 PM. The game will be televised live on Charter TV3.
Olympic silver medalist, Erika Lawler of the United States Olympic Women's Hockey Team will be honored as the "Leader of the Month," as part of the "Be A Leader" program presented by the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates. Erika will be on hand to sign autographs during the first intermission.
The American Hockey League will present Alex Stalock and Danny Groulx with their individual awards for their play this season. Stalock was named to the All-Rookie Team while Groulx was selected as a First Team All-Star and best defenseman.
During the first intermission, the finals of the third annual Worcester Sharks Youth Hockey Shootout will take place. Youths (mites and bantams) will compete for the title of best shooter and goaltender in all of Worcester County.
Saturday night, the Sharks close out their regular season home schedule with a 7:05 PM game against the Providence on Fan Appreciation Night.
The doors will open at 4:00 PM as the Boston Bruins Alumni will take to the DCU Center ice with the proceeds from the game benefitting the "Why Me" organization of Worcester. The game begins at 4:30 PM. Join Rick Middleton, Bob Sweeney, Ken Linseman, Bruce Shoebottom, and other Bruins alumni on Saturday.
In addition to the alumni game, Worcester will host a "Fan Fest" from 5:30-7 PM with table games, face painters, the WXLO street team, and FINZ hanging out with a few of his other mascot friends.
A lucky fan will win a 32" flat-screen television and the Sharks will be raffling off other great prizes as part of the Fan Appreciation Night promotion.
