Individual Playoff Tickets On Sale Now

Individual tickets for the Penguins' first two home games of the Calder Cup Playoffs are on sale now. Should the Penguins qualify for the postseason, home games A & B would take place on Sunday, April 18 at 3:05pm and Monday, April 19 at 7:05pm.

The Penguins magic number to clinch a playoff spot is four, meaning a combination of four points gained by the Penguins or four points lost by the Norfolk Admirals would guarantee a trip to the American Hockey League postseason. Those two teams face off this Wednesday night in Norfolk at 7:15pm, and a regulation win for the Penguins would ensure an eighth straight postseason appearance.

Tickets for first round individual playoff games start at just $17.50, and are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza box office, all TicketMaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-745-3000.

FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT, SPONSORED BY PPL, THIS FRIDAY

The Penguins annual Fan Appreciation Night - sponsored by PPL Electric Utilities - will take place this Friday, April 9, when the Penguins play host to the Albany River Rats at 7:05pm.

Every fan through the gates will receive a scratch off card, featuring prizes including a 42" LCD High Def TV and other items from Rent A Center; waterpark passes to Sno Mountain; free movie passes from Cinemark at Moosic and RC Theatres 14 in Wilkes-Barre; free cheeseburgers from Sonic; and discounts from Lucky's Sporthouse, TGI Friday's and Wolfgang Puck Express. Autographed pucks, trading card sets, t-shirts and other goodies from the Pens will also be given away.

PPL Electric will also be distributing free high-efficiency light bulbs outside of the arena after the game.

RED FRIDAY JERSEY AUCTION THIS WEEKEND

Fans will be able to bid on the Penguins RED FRIDAY sweaters during the team's game on Friday, April 9 against the Albany River Rats.

The special red jerseys, which have been worn during Friday night contests on February 12 and March 19 as well, feature the wording SUPPORT OUR TROOPS on the crest in place of WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON.

Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the Tickets For Troops program, which provides a night out at a Penguins hockey game for local military members and their families.

Additionally, GO RED FRIDAY tee-shirts are being sold at the Penguins Team Story inside the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. All money raised from tee-shirt sales will also go to the Tickets For Troops program.

Fans are also encouraged to wear red to show their support at Friday games throughout the remainder of the season.

The silent auction will take place during the first and second periods of the April 9 contest, which is also Fan Appreciation Night. Every fan through the doors will receive a prize, ranging from discounts from local merchants to flat screen televisions and home theater systems.

SCORE AGAINST HUNGER THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

The Rotary Club of Pittston and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be having their annual "Score a Goal Against Hunger" project on April 9.

The Penguins will be hosting the Albany River Rats. All fans attending the game are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items, which will be collected at the East and West Gates for the food banks (West Pittston, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton) of the Salvation Army and for St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen.

Rotarians will be selling tickets for the game for $20 each. A Penguins cap will be given with each ticket purchased. You can purchase tickets at the office of Dr. Bishop, 692 Shoemaker Ave., West Wyoming or by calling 693-3196.

DOLLAR DAYS ARE BACK THIS FRIDAY

You asked for it, and the Penguins have delivered! DOLLAR DAYS are headed back to Wilkes-Barre!

Fans attending this Friday's game against the Albany River Rats will be able to dine on DOLLAR DOGS at select stands throughout the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza (see list below), and those 21-years of age and older can purchase select DOLLAR 12 OUNCE DRAFT BEERS for just a dollar from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

Savor will be grilling up MORE THAN 1,500 DOLLAR DOGS, which will be available on a first come, first served basis. That means once the allotment is gone, they're gone, so get there early to enjoy your fill of this great food special!
