Former Crunch Captains Mike Gaul And David Ling To Take Part In Pre-Game Ceremonies On Saturday, Apr

Syracuse, NY (April 7, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that former team captains Mike Gaul and David Ling will take part in the pre-game ceremonies at the Crunch's Saturday, April 10 game vs. Rochester.

Gaul, 36, was the first team captain during the Columbus era and finished tied for third on the club in scoring during the 2000-01 season, posting 16 goals, 45 assists and 80 penalty minutes. In addition, he contributed three points (1g, 2a) in five playoff games. A native of Lachine, Quebec, Gaul was originally selected by Los Angeles in the 12th round, 262nd overall, in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.

Ling, 35, appeared in 131 games in parts of three seasons with the Crunch from 2001-04, accumulating 33 goals, 85 assists and 394 penalty minutes while serving as the club's captain during the 2002-03 campaign. In addition, he tallied 11 points (5g, 6a) in 17 playoff games. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ling was selected by the Quebec Nordiques in the seventh round, 179th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
