Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that due to an unforeseen illness in the Arbour family, former defenseman Al Arbour will be unable to attend the Amerks game on Friday, April 9th as originally scheduled.
Seneca Gaming Corporation's final Amerks Legends Night of this season, scheduled to be five dates in each year of the new three-year partnership between the Amerks and Seneca Gaming, will be made good during the 2010-11 season. Next season will now include a total of 6 (six) Legends appearances and the originally scheduled five (5) during the 2011-12 season, which will mark the last year of the marketing partnership.
On Friday, Rochester closes out its home slate against the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The evening will still include the annual awards night prior to the game, honoring the best performances of the season. Friday's game falls on the final installment of the Amerks Dollar Dogs 'N' Drafts promotion. Friday night will be the last chance for fans to take part in the "Dollar Dogs 'N' Drafts" promotion and purchase Zweigle's Hot Dogs and Draft Beers for just $1 each!
Amerks fans can also show their support for breast cancer awareness and bid on game-worn pink jerseys and socks. The Amerks will auction off the game-worn items and fans can place their bids up until the 10-minute mark of the third period. The funds raised will go to the Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc., which will distribute the money to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, Gilda's Club Rochester, Wilmot Cancer Research and the American Cancer Society. The Amerks will also showcase their pink dashers, which will be the first of their kind in American Hockey League history. For tickets, call (585) 454-5335 or go online to amerks.comor ticketmaster.com.
