SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers suffered a 6-0 loss to the Southern Illinois Miners on Saturday night, managing just five hits against four different pitchers.
Southern Illinois scored in five different innings and recorded 12 strikeouts. Kyle Arjona worked four innings and suffered the loss, allowing three runs on five hits. Stephen Chamblee worked three innings and Isaiah Rivera logged the final two frames, retiring all six batters faced. Chase Dawson tallied a pair of hits for the Boomers, who had just one runner reach second base all night.
The Boomers (12-10) conclude the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Boomers cap courtesy of Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. Plus it's a Family Day presented by Wintrust Community Banks and there is pre-game catch on the field. LHP Andrew Dean (1-2, 4.74) starts for the Boomers against a familiar face, LHP Gunnar Kines (0-1, 1.84) who will make his first start as a visitor at Wintrust Field.
