Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROY, NY - A pair of home runs from Luis Encarnacion and Nate Perry propeled the Tri-City ValleyCats' fourth straight win, 6-1 over the Hudson Valley Renegades at Joe Bruno Stadium on Thursday night.

Encarnacion's homer was his team-leading seventh of the season and it brought home Carlos Machado with the game's first two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

As it turned out, those two runs would be all that the ValleyCats needed to win, as ValleyCats starter Carlos Hiraldo gave up the ValleyCats' only run in the fourth inning.

After Jacson McGowan hit his second homer of the year for Hudson Valley, the ValleyCats lead was cut to just one run.

Enmanuel Valdez then came home with Tri-City's third run on a passed ball in the fifth inning, before Nate Perry hit his first home run of the season.

Perry, who was making his New York-Penn League debut in Thursday night's game crushed the third home run of his professional career 408 feet to put the ValleyCats up by three.

Alex McKenna tacked on the ValleyCats' final run with an RBI-single in the seventh inning, just after an RBI-groundout from Trey Dawson.

Nivaldo Rodriguez pitched four scoreless frames from the fifth inning onward to earn his first save of the season for Tri-City.

The ValleyCats are now a season-high eight games above .500, as they continue to lead the Stedler division by two games over the Lowell Spinners.

Tri-City will attempt its second three-game sweep of the season on Friday night, with first pitch against Hudson Valley scheduled for 7 p.m.
