May 2, 2007 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - Excitement about the upcoming Winnipeg Blue Bombers season continues to build as the team announced today that 15,635 season tickets have been sold for the 2007 season.
"Bomber fans have plenty to be excited about this season and that is reflected in the number of season tickets that have been sold to date," said Bomber President and CEO Lyle Bauer.
"With a strong nucleus of returning players coming off an outstanding performance in 2006, some key off-season additions and a number of team and league records set to be broken, Canad Inns Stadium is the place to be in 2007."
The football club recently announced an innovative new way for fans to purchase Blue Bomber season tickets.
Fans can now purchase season tickets on-line at www.bluebombers.com, the official website of the Blue Bombers. Simply click on the 2007 Bomber Season Tickets button featuring Milt Stegall near the bottom of the main page and you can purchase some of the best seats in the house at Canad Inns Stadium. A credit card is required.
You can also purchase season tickets by visiting the Bomber Ticket Office at Canad Inns Stadium or by calling 784-7597 or 784-7448.
Purchase your season tickets today and you can begin enjoying all of the advantages of being a season ticket holder immediately.
Those advantages include 20 per cent off the purchase price of walk-up tickets, 20 per cent off regular-priced merchandise at the Bomber Store, a free ticket for the Sept. 2 Never Alone Social at Canad Inns Stadium, an exclusive opportunity to meet Bomber players and early entrance to the Annual Bomber Locker Room Sale.
A 2007 Blue Bomber season ticket also guarantees you more Friday night fun. The Big Blue will play a total of six Friday night home games at Canad Inns Stadium this season.
By purchasing a Blue Bomber season ticket, you increase the likelihood of witnessing some Blue Bomber history. Receiver Milt Stegall needs just two more touchdowns to set a new CFL record for career TDs while running back Charles Roberts needs just over 700 yards to establish a new Bomber standard for career rushing yardage.
The Blue Bombers hit the turf at Canad Inns Stadium for the first time in 2007 on Thursday, June 14 when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a pre-season affair. The Big Blue play the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, July 5 at Canad Inns Stadium in the team's regular season home-opener.
Another highlight will be Banjo Bowl Weekend. A number of events, including free concerts and an autograph session with Bomber players and coaches, will be held in conjunction with the 4th Annual Banjo Bowl, featuring the Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Canad Inns Stadium.
