Bauman selected as first overall in 2007 CFL Canadian Draft

Toronto, ON (May 2, 2007) - With the first overall selection in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected University of Regina wide receiver Chris Bauman.

Bauman led the CIS in receiving in 2006, hauling in 44 receptions for 952 yards and 10 touchdowns. The native of Brandon, Manitoba measures in at 6'4" and 212 lbs. He was named to both the CIS All-Canadian First Team and the Canada West All-Star Team in 2006.

Bauman will be available in person to media at the CFL's Toronto office at approximately 4:30pm ET.

2006: 952 yards and 10 touchdowns.

2005: He set a Rams single-game record with 180 receiving yards against the University British Columbia on Sept. 9. Bauman led the team and finished tied for second in Canada West with five touchdown receptions. He also led his team for the second consecutive season and finished second in Canada West with an average of 21.4 yards per reception. He tied for third in Regina history in receiving touchdowns in a single season with five. He is also fourth in Regina history in average yards per reception (21.4) and was third on the Rams with 449 receiving yards and 21 receptions.

2004: Bauman recorded 333 receiving yards on 18 receptions and led the team and finished third in Canada West with an average of 18.5 yards per reception. He recorded his first collegiate touchdown on Oct. 8 at Calgary.

High School (Vincent Massey): Bauman was the team MVP for two straight seasons and helped win three consecutive championships in a row. He had 24 touchdowns in 10 games
