PONOMA, NY - The Windy City ThunderBolts surrendered their first series sweep of the New York Boulders 5-1 Thursday evening at Clover Field.

The ThunderBolts broke the scoring in the top of the second inning as Jonathan Waite crossed home plate after Jake Boone received a hit by pitch with the bases loaded.

New York tacked on three runs in the bottom of the third inning, stemming from RBI singles' by Nathans and Chris Kwitzer. Following the Boulders RBI knocks, Gabriel Garcia hit a deep sacrifice fly-ball caught by Bolts' left-fielder Daniel Robinson sliding down the foul line bringing the New York lead to 3-1 after three innings of play.

New York (14-9) accumulated two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning off a two-run double by Boulders David Vinksy.

The Bolts had plenty of opportunities to cash in runs, going 1/12 with runners in scoring position. Every Windy City player had a hit in the contest except Carson Matthews who went 0-4.

Windy City (9-15) starting pitcher Kenny Mathews (0-4) threw six innings allowing five earned runs, and surrendering eight hits while walking four and striking out five in the defeat.

The Boulders added two more runs in the seventh inning, this time a hit by patch and a single paving away the series sweep.

Bren Spillane added a team leading fifth home run with a solo shot to right-center field in the top of the ninth inning with two outs.

Henry Omana (4-0, 0.82) takes the mound as the ThunderBolts travel to Lake Erie for their first meeting of the season.first pitch scheduled for 6:05 CT.
