Michael Bolaski hit his 2nd home run of the year, but the Grand Junction Rockies scored eight runs in the 5th inning to knock off the Owlz 11-6 on Monday night at Suplizio Field.
Orem took the lead in the top of the 1st on a RBI single by Wade Hinkle that scored Drew Martinez. The Rockies answered right back in the bottom of the 1st with two runs off of Patrick Lowery. Lowery went four innings, giving up three runs.
Orem didn't let the Grand Junction lead last for long, as the Owlz scored one in the 2nd on a RBI double by Wendell Soto and one in the 3rd on a RBI double by Michael Snyder.
Grand Junction tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd and the game looked to be a tight one, until the Rockies put up eight in the 5th inning on a grand slam by Julian Yan and a 3-run home run courtesy of Franmy Pena. Garrett Bush surrendered the grand slam, while Joey Krehbiel allowed Pena's long ball.
The Owlz are now 1-7 and will try to pick up their 2nd win of the season on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. You can listen to all the action live on audio.oremowlz.com at 7:05 p.m.
