Bodie Recalled To Hamilton

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, has announced rookie right wing Troy Bodie has been recalled by the Oilers to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Bodie, 22, scored 38 points (21g-17a) in 46 games with the Thunder during the regular season, ranking second on the team with 21 goals. A ninth round (278th overall) selection by the Oilers in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Bodie earned a selection to the National Conference roster at this season's Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game, garnering an assist.

Bodie appeared in six Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Thunder, registering two assists. The Portage La Prairie, Manitoba native appeared in two preseason games with the Oilers in September, with Edmonton going 1-1-0 with Bodie in the lineup.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound right wing has earned his second promotion this season to the AHL, originally appearing in 20 games with the Bulldogs during the 2006-07 regular season while registering one assist with 29 penalty minutes.

Recently named host of the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game, the Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for two consecutive seasons and drew 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07.
