
Blues Re-sign Veteran Center Trent Whitfield

Peoria, Ill. (April 24, 2007) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that the club has re-signed center Trent Whitfield.
Whitfield, 29, ranked first on the Rivermen in goals (33), power-play goals (20), assists (45) and points (78) in 79 games played this past season. The 5-11, 204-pound forward skated in 30 games for the Blues during the 2005-06 campaign, recording seven points (two goals, five assists) along with 14 penalty minutes. Whitfield has played in a total of 174 NHL games, recording 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) along with 70 penalty minutes.
Whitfield, a native of Estevan, Saskatchewan, was originally Boston's fourth round selection, 100th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
