Canucks Recall Edler

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled defenceman Alex Edler.

Edler, 20, appeared in 22 games during the regular season with the Canucks. In that time, the Ostersund, SWE native scored one goal (Nov. 30/06 vs. Anaheim) as well as collected two assists for three points. Edler has never played in a Stanley Cup playoff game in his career. So far this post-season with the Moose, he has played in three games. In 49 regular season games in Manitoba, Edler scored five goals and 21 assists for 26 points and 28 penalty minutes.

Edler was originally Vancouver's third round choice, 91st overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
