Bridgeport, CT - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Bridgeport Bluefish 3-2 on Saturday night in the second game of a three-game series at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Bridgeport opened the scoring in the first on a RBI single from John Alonso off of Ducks starter John Brownell. The Bluefish put up another run in the third on Jobduan Morales' sacrifice fly. Dan Lyons made it a 2-1 ballgame with a sacrifice fly for Long Island in the fourth against Bridgeport starter Robert Carson.

Andres Rodriguez's solo homer to left in the sixth inning made it 3-1 Bluefish. Dan Coury hit a two-out solo homer for the Ducks off of closer Patrick Mincey in the ninth, but Long Island could not tie the game.

Darren Byrd (1-0) earned the win, tossing one and one-third hitless innings in relief of Carson. Brownell (7-3) took the loss, surrendering three runs (two earned) on eight hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings. Patrick Crider tossed a 1-2-3 eighth for the Ducks. Sam Gervacio, Eric Niesen, and Steven Ames each threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Bluefish before Mincey earned his 18th save of the season.

Cody Puckett and Coury each finished with a pair of hits and a run scored for the Ducks.

Long Island completes their three-game set with the cross-sound rival Bridgeport Bluefish on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 5:35 p.m. from The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Righty Bobby Blevins gets the ball for the Ducks against Bluefish right-hander Kameron Loe. Fans can follow all of the action live on the Ducks' Official YouTube Channel.
