
BlueClaws to Play 500th Game at FirstEnergy Park

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws, class- A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have announced that Wednesday, April 30th will be their 500th regular season home game in team history. This is the eighth season in BlueClaws history.
"To think we have played 500 games at FirstEnergy Park already is amazing," said General Manager Geoff Brown. "It will be great to be able to celebrate another milestone with the fans that have supported this team for eight seasons."
Wednesday will also be FirstEnergy Night with hundreds of employees from FirstEnergy Corp. on hand to enjoy the game. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive inflatable claws courtesy of Investors Savings Bank.
So far the BlueClaws have drawn 3,220,886 people to FirstEnergy Park over their seven-plus seasons, which is an overall average of 6,468 fans per game. They have led the South Atlantic League in attendance for each of the first seven years. Lakewood is 254- 244 at FirstEnergy Park to date.
First pitch that night will be thrown at 6:35pm against the Kannapolis Intimidators. Kannapolis was the Philadelphia Phillies SAL affiliate from 1995-2000 before the BlueClaws opened their doors.
