Greenville, S.C. - The Greenville Drive (8-13) rebounded from losing the first two games of the series and took down the Lakewood BlueClaws (7-14) 12-1 Thursday night at Fluor Field. The loss ends a season-high, three game winning streak for the BlueClaws.

For the first time in the series, it was the Drive jumping out the first lead of the game, this time, in the first. Mookie Betts drew a leadoff walk against Jordan Guth and scored on an RBI double to center off the bat of Boss Moanaroa.

Lakewood returned the favor in the top of the fifth when Art Charles picked up his third home run of the season with a solo shot to right center. The hit tied the game at one and marked the first hit of the ballgame for the BlueClaws against Drive left Cody Kukuk.

Greenville took the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning when Guth allowed two runs. Dreily Guerrero led off the frame with a double and scored on Betts' ball to short that Roman Quinn played into an error. Two hitters later it was Cody Koback with and RBI double to put the Drive in front, 3-1.

Andrew Aizenstadt took over for Guth in the fifth and finished the inning by retiring the first two men he faced. Aizenstadt struggled in the sixth and could not make it out of the inning.

The righty hit the first batter of the inning, walked, the next, retired Jayson Hernandez on a groundout to the second baseman, but then walked the next two. It was the walk to Betts that brought home a run and ended Aizenstadt's outing.

Jeb Stefan took over with one out in the sixth and gave up an RBI single to Jose Vinicio and the Drive upped the lead to 5-1. Stefan induced a fly out to right, before Moanaroa crushed a three-run triple to center off of the righty. Stefan regrouped to strike out Anuery Tavarez and ended the five run, two hit inning for Greenville.

After a scoreless seventh, Felix Santos came out for the eighth and allowed another three-run triple, this time off the bat of Tavarez and Drew Turocy followed with an RBI double to make it 12-1. That made it 11 consecutive runs for the Drive to close out the ballgame.

Guth took the loss and dropped to 1-4 on the season. Kukuk earned the win and improved to 2-2 on the year. The BlueClaws offense just mustered two hits and the pitchers walked nine Drive hitters in the loss.
