(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Eddie Butler took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and the Asheville Tourists completed a sweep of the Lexington Legends with a 3-0 victory Thursday night at McCormick Field.

Michael Antonio led off the top of the seventh with a ground single to center field to break up the no-hit bid. Ethan Chapman's leadoff single in the ninth against reliever Raul Fernandez was the Legends' only other hit.

The Tourists took the lead with a run in the third inning on a double by Julian Yan, a sacrifice by Matt Wessinger and a two-out single by Matt Argyropoulos. They added another run in the fourth when Tom Murphy doubled, stole third, and continued home when the pitch went to the backstop.

Asheville scored its final run in the eighth. Jeff Wessinger's popup was dropped by third baseman Adrean Morales for a two-base error. Chris O'Dowd put down a sacrifice bunt, and Wessinger beat the throw to third. Argyropoulos followed with a single, scoring Wessinger.

Butler (2-0) worked eight innings, allowed one hit, walked two batters and struck out four. Fernandez picked up his seventh save with a scoreless ninth.

Christian Binford (1-2) pitched well in defeat for Lexington. He went seven innings, allowed six hits, two runs, walked no one and struck out eight.

The Legends return home to begin a four-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets, who are in first place in the South Atlantic League Southern Division. Game time Friday is 7:05 p.m.
