KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 15, 2015) - The BlueClaws pounded out 16 hits to beat the Intimidators, 8-4, on Wednesday night at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. The BlueClaws built a 4-0 lead highlighted by a Deivi Grullon two-run home run (4) in the top of the fourth inning.
Kannapolis rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth as the first four batters hit safely with three doubles. Brett Austin and Michael Suiter led off the inning with back-to-back doubles, and John Ziznewski singled to score Suiter to cut the BlueClaws lead to 4-2. After a Michael Danner double moved Ziznewski to third, Eddy Alvarez added an RBI-groundout to cut the deficit to one run, 4-3.
Lakewood rebuilt their lead with two runs in the sixth to chase Lowry from the game, and the Intimidators did not threaten again. The BlueClaws added runs in the seventh and ninth against reliever Brad Salgado and Connor Walsh, respectively.
