OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue used a strong defensive performance to defeat the Bakersfield Jam, 111-86, on Saturday at the Cox Convention Center. The Blue limited the Jam to 35.7 percent shooting from the field and won the rebounding battle 55-32.

Josh Huestis, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, recorded 18 points and six rebounds in 33 minutes. Talib Zanna tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds, good for his fourth double-double in his past five games and 10th overall this season. Dez Wells scored a career-high 20 points and Marquis Teague notched 13. Tomislav Zubcic finished with 11 points and seven boards off the bench.

Oklahoma City went ahead 30-24 through the first 12 minutes by spurring a 12-3 run at the end of the first quarter before adding on in the second to hold a 55-44 halftime lead.

The Blue built on its advantage in the third quarter by limiting Bakersfield to 20 points on 31.8 percent shooting. Oklahoma City closed the quarter with a 14-2 run to head into the fourth up by 23. The Blue led by over 18 points for the entirety of the final period.

"I was really pleased with how our team responded tonight," said Blue Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "I thought we fell short of our standard of play last night but we got right back to it tonight, especially on the defensive end. Our guys gave great effort."

Oklahoma City (8-19) shot 11-for-18 (61.1 percent) from behind the arc in its best three-point shooting night of the year.

Bakersfield (10-17) was led by Xavier Silas and Derek Cooke Jr. with 16 points each.
