Blue Jackets Assign Nate Guenin to Falcons

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Nate Guenin has been assigned to the Falcons by their National Hockey League affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Guenin played in three games with the Blue Jackets after being recalled on October 16 and collected no points and two penalty minutes. Guenin played in Springfield's first four games and tallied two penalty minutes and +1 rating with the Falcons.

Guenin, 27, has registered two assists and eight penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh during his four-year professional career. Last season, he appeared in two games with the Penguins and combined to tally 5-13-18, 98 penalty minutes and was +11 in 68 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Peoria Rivermen, including 2-11-13, 35 penalty minutes and +14 in 27 games after joining Peoria.
