October 26, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
Twice the Manitoba Moose and Hamilton Bulldogs needed more than 65 minutes to decide a winner. The Moose opened a long season series with the Bulldogs winning 4-3 in a shootout on Oct. 21. Then Manitoba left Hamilton feeling déjà vu on Saturday winning a second straight in a shootout by an identical result. Manitoba shooters hit the mark on five-of-eight chances while Moose goalies Eddie Lack and Tyler Weiman stopped every Hamilton attempt in back-to-back shootout wins.
Thursday, October 21, 2010: Manitoba 4, Hamilton 3 (SOW) Rookie defenceman Kevin Connauton opened the scoring and extended Manitoba's lead with his third and fourth goals of the year in the first period. Hamilton answered back by the game's halfway point with two power play goals. Eventually the teams would head to a shootout deadlocked at 3-3. Eddie Lack stopped all four Bulldog shooters while Marco Rosa and Jordan Schroeder buried their attempts, giving the Moose the 4-3 SOW.
Friday, October 22, 2010: Manitoba 4, Hamilton 3 (SOW) Tempers flared early in Friday's rematch with two fights and no goals in the first 20 minutes of the game. The second period was a different scene with the Moose and Bulldogs combining for five goals. Hamilton held a 3-2 lead heading into the third but Marco Rosa sent a backhander through the Hamilton goaltender Peter Delmas with 5:30 remaining in the final period to send it to extra time.
