Blue Jackets Assign Defenseman David Savard to AHL's Springfield Falcons

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman David Savard to the Springfield Falcons, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Savard, 21, has collected two goals and seven assists for nine points and 16 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has also picked up 3-11-14, 38 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 28 games with Springfield. Columbus' third pick, 94th overall, in the 2009 Entry Draft, he made his professional debut with Springfield in 2010-11. He tallied 11-32-43 and 18 penalty minutes in 72 games, leading club defensemen in goals, assists and points and ranking eighth (tied) among AHL defensemen in goals and 14th (tied) in points.
