Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release

WALDORF, Md. - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs faced off against the York Revolution in the final game of their three-game set Thursday, at Regency Furniture Stadium. Looking to salvage the final game of the series, the Blue Crabs gave the ball to right-handed pitcher Gaby Hernandez who was looking to earn his sixth win on the season. Opposed him, making his first start on the year was righty Zack Segovia. The two would get locked in a pitchers duel early but the Revs would be able to come back and hold on to the 3-1 victory.

After Hernandez mowed through the Revs batters in the first two innings, the Blue Crabs offense got to work in the home half of the second. Jose Salas extended his hitting streak to 13 games after he lead off the inning with a single to left. After Alvin Colin was hit by a pitch, second basemen Mike Richard, fresh off the DL singled up the middle to score Salas from second.

The Revolution offense would eventually break against Hernandez in the sixth when Revs DH Andres Perez would double down the leftfield line to score Kody Kirkland and Ofilio Castro. The runs would be enough as Segovia and the Revs bullpen would be able to hold down the Blue Crabs offense.
