CAMDEN, N.J. - The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Clubs, Inc. has named Camden Riversharks infielder Valentino Pascucci as the Player of the Month for July.

Pascucci batted with a .315 average and hit 10 home runs on his way to compiling 22 RBIs, 22 runs scored and 19 walks during the month of July. He notched his 300th career home run on July 30 when he homered against the York Revolution. Pascucci also received Atlantic League Player of the Day honors on July 25 for hitting two home runs in a walk-off win over the Somerset Patriots, including the game-winning home run.

"I was definitely surprised," said Pascucci. "I have enjoyed my time in Camden so far this year. Just being able to play with my teammates has been fun, and it's an honor to be recognized like this. I am looking forward to finishing out the season strong and doing everything I can to help the team win."

Drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1999, Pascucci made his major league debut on April 26, 2004. Through 15 seasons, he spent time with the Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres. While with the New York Mets organization, Pascucci won the 2012 AAA All Star Game Home Run Derby. Additionally, Pascucci played for the Italian national team during the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

"Valentino has always shown tremendous power with our team, both in 2010 and through this season," said Adam Lorber, General Manager and President of the Camden Riversharks. "The Player of the Month designation shows that he is a more complete player than ever before."
