Frederick Keys News Release
A bizarre series came to an end at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem, NC as for a third consecutive game the Keys and Dash played to a blowout shutout outcome. This time it was Winston-Salem who picked up the win as Frederick fell 8-0.
The Dash used their power to get their big lead going as 1B Ian Gac homered to open the second inning. In the third inning, DH Andy Wilkins hit a three-run home run and then Gac followed with his 30th home run of the season. The back-to-back home runs were the first struck against Frederick in 2011.
Keys starter Ryohei Tanaka had a rare rough start. Tanaka allowed eight runs in 4 and 2/3rds innings getting the loss. The Keys registered just five hits.
LF Kipp Schutz and INF Jonathan Schoop each added two hits.
Frederick will head to Myrtle Beach to take on the Pelicans Monday, August 8th at 7:00 p.m. On the hill will be LHP Rick Zagone. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior to first pitch on 1450-AM The Source.
Frederick returns home to face Winston-Salem for a weekend four-game series beginning Thursday, August 11th. Friday, the 12th will be Fritos Family Friday with Wrestling Great Jerry "The King" Lawler in attendance signing autographs throughout the game for free.
